About

Science education is the thread that connects the work.

Mr Vilchez Science brings together more than twenty years of science teaching and leadership with curriculum design, interactive educational technology, tuition and practical support for schools.

The idea

A professional education practice, not a collection of disconnected services

The tuition, simulations, curriculum work, teacher resources and school consultancy all come from the same underlying question: how can difficult science be made more understandable, more teachable and more useful to learners?

I have worked across secondary science teaching and leadership in the UK and internationally, including Head of Science and Head of Physics responsibilities. That experience matters because the same problems recur at different scales. A misconception that blocks one student can become a curriculum problem across a year group. A weak explanation can become a weak resource. A good classroom model can become a useful simulation or teacher tool.

Principles

How I approach the work

Scientific accuracy, clarity and educational usefulness come before spectacle. The aim is expert-led work in which the educational judgement remains visible.

Understanding before performance

Students need more than remembered phrases. I try to make the underlying model clear first, then connect that understanding to calculation, practical work, scientific language and examination technique.

Technology must earn its place

A simulation or digital tool is useful when it helps a learner predict, manipulate, observe and explain something that would otherwise remain abstract. Novelty on its own is not a learning objective.

Curriculum should be coherent

Good curriculum design makes prerequisites, conceptual links, misconceptions and assessment demands visible. The specification matters, but students also need to see the science that connects individual specification points.

Professional judgement stays visible

AI can accelerate drafting, analysis and development, but published educational work still needs review, scientific accuracy and accountable human judgement.

Evidence

A platform you can inspect, not just claims you have to accept

The strongest evidence of the approach is the work itself. These areas show different parts of the same educational practice.

Developing professional practice

Alternative provision and inclusive science teaching

A new strand of my professional work is beginning in alternative provision. I am treating that as an area in which to learn, reflect and develop practice rather than as expertise to overclaim. It is particularly relevant to engagement, relationships and boundaries, adaptive science teaching, curriculum accessibility, practical and visual learning, and the thoughtful use of technology where conventional classroom approaches have not worked well for a learner.

Where the work can lead

Students and families can start with tuition. Teachers can start with the learning and simulation tools. Science leaders can discuss curriculum, assessment or departmental development. School leaders can discuss educational technology, digital strategy or responsible AI implementation.
