Tuition

Science tuition built around the student and the course.

GCSE and A-Level science tuition focused on conceptual understanding, precise exam performance and the specific barriers holding a student back. One-to-one tuition is £60 for 60 minutes. Small online GCSE Science groups are £20 per student and launch only when a suitable cohort has formed.

Individual tuition

1-to-1 Science Tuition

£60 per 60 minutes

Personalised GCSE or A-Level support covering difficult concepts, calculations, practical reasoning, exam technique, revision planning and targeted feedback. Sessions can be online, in person where practical, or blended.

Online GCSE Science Groups

£20 per student / 60 minutes

Groups are matched by year group, exam board, course and availability. A cohort launches only when at least three compatible students can attend, with a maximum of six. The first session is £10 per student.

First target cohort: Year 11 AQA GCSE Science. Preferred launch slot Friday 18:00–19:00 UK time. Tuesday 18:30–19:30 and Saturday 16:00–17:00 are also being collected as alternatives.

How it works

A simple tuition journey

The starting point is the student, the course and the problem that needs solving. The format comes after that, not before it.

1. Start with the student, not a package

The first conversation is about the course, current level, recent assessments, confidence, goals and the areas causing difficulty. The aim is to identify what would actually make tuition useful.

2. Diagnose before repeating

Good tuition should identify the missing idea, skill or exam habit rather than simply repeat a school lesson. That diagnosis shapes what happens next.

3. Choose the right format

One-to-one tuition is best for highly individual needs. Small groups work well when students share a compatible course, level and timetable. A student can move between the two formats over time.

4. Connect understanding to exam performance

Sessions can move between explanation, modelling, calculations, practical reasoning, examination questions and feedback. The balance changes according to what the student needs next.

Who it can help

When individual tuition is particularly useful

Good tuition is not simply an extra lesson. It should diagnose why progress is uneven and target the point where individual attention has the most value.
✓students who understand parts of the course but cannot consistently convert that understanding into marks
✓students with gaps from missed learning, teacher changes or an uneven foundation
✓students aiming to move from a secure grade toward higher-grade performance
✓students who need difficult ideas explained differently rather than simply repeated
✓students who benefit from structured accountability, targeted practice and individual feedback
✓families looking for clear guidance about where effort will have the greatest effect

How small groups work

Group tuition is cohort-led, not speculative

Families should not have to buy a group session and then discover that no group exists. Interest is collected first, students are matched, and booking opens only when the cohort is viable.

1. Join free

Register the year group, exam board, course, approximate level and the proposed times the student can usually attend. No payment is taken.

2. Match the cohort

A group is formed when at least three compatible students can attend the same online slot. Six students is the maximum.

3. Launch and book

Families are contacted before launch. The introductory first session is £10; standard sessions are £20 per student thereafter.

Connected learning

Tuition can use the same learning system as the wider platform

Simulations, curriculum-linked explanations and resources can support tuition where they genuinely help. The long-term aim is for assigned learning and progress evidence to connect to the same curriculum architecture rather than live in a separate tutoring system.

Not sure which format is right?

Share the course, year group, recent grade picture, target and main concern. That is enough to work out whether individual tuition, a group waiting list, or a mixture of the two makes most sense.
